Moon Phases and PurposesBy: HAR StormyMoon New Moon, First Quarter, Full Moon, and Last Quarter phases are considered to be primary phases. The Purposes of moon phase watching are used by many cultures both Witches and Farmers as well as Native Americans. They used the moon phases to tell when they should plant their seeds, when they should collect their harvest, Witches use the moon phases to tell when the moon is at its highest power, Native Americans also used the Moon phase for planting purposes as well as Ritual work, they read the moon to tell what was coming for each season, they also watched the moon for omens. "From the Witches Almanac" These are the major phases to which a person may want to use to change ones self. Life is constantly changing but not always as we wish so we take extra steps into making the necessary changes that are in the best interest of our self and those around us using these phases. 4 Major phases for a Witch, or any person wishing to use the Moon in Ritual work: Moons New Moon: During the height of the new moon it is good time to put your prayers in order and prepare for new beginnings , preparing for
the waxing moon to come, clean your home, clean your ritual tools. Some people feel using these specific times of the moon phase will ensure more power, and precise effectiveness. Meaning the results have a better chance if done during the specific phase for the specific purpose and reason for the ritual or spell.
