A

Allegorical

Something describing a subject under the guise of another; describing by resemblances; figurative.

Astrology

The study of the positions and aspects of celestial bodies in the belief that they have an influence on the course of natural earthly occurrences and human affairs; the study of occult influence of stars on human affairs.

Angelic Realm

The energetic level where angels are said to live.

Aura

The energy field emanating from the surface of a person or object. This emanation is visualized as an outline of cascading color and may be held to represent soul vibrations, chakric emergence or a reflection of surrounding energy fields.

Biomagnetic Field/Sheath

The energy field that surrounds all living things.

Cabalistic

Having a secret or hidden meaning; occult; cryptic writings.

Celestical

Of or relating to the sky or the heavens; Supremely good; sublime.

Chakra

A spinning vortex of subtle energy. The term comes from the Sanskrit word chakram, which means "wheel", because these centers appear to clairvoyants and yogis as whirling disks of light. The system of subtle energy channels and centers is the basis for the Meridians and energy points used in acupuncture, yoga practice, and energy healing. There are eight main chakras, located in a line aligned with the spine. These centers connect the energy of the physical body with that of the Subtle Body. The eight chakras are located in the crown of the head, the center of the forehead (the third eye), the throat, the solar plexus, the base of the spine, the genitals, and beneath the feet (earth). When the chakras are functioning properly, the body's physical and subtle energies are in balance and harmony. Malfunctions can lead to physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual disturbances. Many energy workers believe that the chakras can be healed by the interaction between the vibrations of crystals and the energies of the body's Biomagnetic or subtle energy field.

Channel

The medium through which a spirit guide purportedly communicates with the physical world; to serve as a medium for a spirit guide.

Channeling

Transmitting of messages from one world to another.

Clairaudience/Clairaudient

The power to hear things outside the range of normal perception; the power of faculty of hearing something not present to the ear, but regarded objective reality.

Clairsentience/Clairsentient

Having feeling or sensation as distinguished as perception and thought.

Clairvoyance/Clairvoyant

The power to see objects or events that cannot be perceived by the senses; acute intuitive insight or perceptiveness; the faculty of seeing what is out of sight; deep insight; acute insight or perceptiveness.

Crystal Healing

Use of crystals of differing colors (therefore different vibrations) on parts of the body to stimulate health.

Dream Therapy/Dream Interpretation

Analysis of dreams and their meanings.

Diety

The rank of essential nature of God or a god; one exalted or revered as supremely good or powerful.

Deja Vu

The feeling of having previously experienced a situation; the illusion of having already experienced something actually being experienced for the first time; the experience of thinking that anew situation had occurred before.

Divine

Relating to or preceding directly from God, or a god.

Divinity

A divine being; a God.

Empath/Empathic

The action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings thoughts, feelings and experiences of another of either past or present without having the feelings, thoughts and experiences fully communicated in an objectively explicit manner.

ESP - Extrasensory Perception

Perception by means other than through the ordinary senses, as in telepathy, clairvoyance or precognition. Apparent power to perceive things that are not present to the senses.

Foresight

The act or power of foreseeing; the act of looking forward.

Foretell

To tell before hand; predict.

Foresee

To see beforehand.

Holistic

Targeted to the whole person - mind, body and soul; relating to or concerned with wholes or with complete systems rather than with the analysis of, treatment of, or dissection into parts (holistic medicine attempts to treat both the mind and the body).

I

Intuition

The immediate knowing/apprehension by the mind without reasoning; quick and ready insight; the act or faculty of knowing or sensing without the use of rational processes; immediate cognition. A sense of something not evident or deducible; an impression.

Insight

The power or act of seeing into a situation; the act or result of apprehending the inner nature of things or of seeing intuitively.

Incorporeal

Having no body or form; having no material body or form.

Medium

A person thought to have the power to communicate with the spirits of the dead or with agents of another world or dimension; an individual held to be a channel of communication between the earthly world and the world of spirits.

Meditation

There are many types of meditation which tap into the calming, therapeutic effect of quiet contemplation; a technique of meditation in which the mantra is chanted in order to foster calm, creativity and spiritual well-being; to engage in contemplation or reflection; to focus on one's thoughts.

Mentalism

Para-psychological activities, such as telepathy and mind reading; the belief that some mental phenomena cannot be explained by physical laws.

Metaphysical

Without material form or substance.

Metaphysics

Philosophy concerned with the nature of being, truth.

Mystic

Concerned with direct communication with God/Nature; of or relating to mysteries or esoteric rites.

Numerology

The study of the occult meanings of numbers and their supposed influence on human life.

Numinous

Spiritually elevated, sublime, concerned with the spirit rather than the mind and body; filled with the sense of the presence divinity; appealing the higher emotions or the aesthetic sense.

Occult

Of, relating to, or dealing with supernatural influences, agencies, or phenomena.

Oracle

A person (as a priestess of ancient Greece) through whom a deity is believed to speak; a shrine in which a deity reveals hidden knowledge or the hidden purpose through such a person; an answer or decision given by an oracle; a person giving wise or authoritative decisions or opinions; an authoritative or wise expression or answer.

Palmistry

The practice or art of telling fortunes and determining personality from the lines, marks and patterns on the palms of the hands.

Paranormal

Beyond the range of normal experience or scientific explanation; seemingly outside normal sensory channels.

Parapsychology

The study of the evidence for psychological phenomena, such as telepathy, clairvoyance and psychokinesis, that are inexplicable by science; the study of the evidence of mental awareness or influence of external objects without interaction from known physical means.

Precognition/Precognitive

Knowing beforehand; clairvoyance relating to an event or state not yet experienced.

Prediction

Prophecy, foretelling; something that is forecast.

Premonition

Previous notice or warning; anticipation of an event without conscious reason; a presentiment of the future; a foreboding; a warning in advance; a forewarning.

Presage

Something that foreshadows or portends a future event; an intuition or feeling of what is going to happen in the future.

Prescient

Foreknowledge of events; divine omniscience; human anticipation of the course of events; foresight.

Prophacy

A prediction of something to come.

Psychic

A person apparently responsive to psychic forces; capable of extraordinary mental processes, such as extrasensory perception and mental telepathy; related to or preformed by the mind, personal susceptible to occult; lying outside the sphere of physical science or knowledge; immaterial, moral, or spiritual in origin or force influences; outside the domain of rational law; sensitive to non-physical or spiritual forces and influences.

Reversion to an earlier or less mature pattern or behavior of feeling.

Reiki

Hands are laid on energy centers of the body to enable healing to occur.

Runes

Clay tablets etched with characters, used to tell the future; any of the characters of any of several alphabets used by the Germanic peoples.

Seance

A meeting of people to receive spiritualistic messages.

Seer

One that predicts events or developments; a person credited with extraordinary moral and spiritual insight; one that practices divination especially by concentration on a glass or crystal globe.

Shaman/Shamanism

A priest or priestess who uses magic for the purpose of curing the sick, divining the hidden and controlling events.

Sixth Sense

A power of perception seemingly independent of the five senses; keen intuition.

Spirit

Animating or vital principal; disembodied soul; supernatural being or essence; the immaterial intelligent or sentient part of a person.

Spiritual

Concerned with, preceding from the soul, spirit, star-gazing; of, related to, consisting of, or affecting the spirit; of or relating to sacred matters; of or related to supernatural beings or phenomena.

Spiritualism

The belief that the dead communicate with the living, as through a medium.

Supernatural

Of or relating to existence outside the natural world; attributed to a power that seems to violate or go beyond natural forces.

Symbolic

Representing the immaterial or abstract thing.

Tarot Cards/Deck

A set of (usually 72) cards that include 22 cards representing vices, virtues, elemental forces, and death and fortune etc.; used in fortune telling.

Telekinetic

The production of motion in objects (as by a spiritualistic medium) without contact or other physical means.

Telepathy

Communication of impressions from mind to mind without the aid of senses; communication from one mind to another by extraordinary means; communication through means other than the senses, as by the exercise of an occult power.

Thought Reading

Direct perception of another's thoughts.

Zodiac

A figure representing the signs of the zodiac and their symbols; an imaginary band in the heavens centered on the ecliptic that encompasses the apparent paths of all the planets except Pluto and is divided into 12 constellations or signs, each taken for astrological purposes to extend 30 degrees of longitude.
