Greetings and salutations to all,
This month we have special requests . We'd like to ask for your prayers for HAR HoneyBunny / /HAR DeborahRose's Mother. She is gravely ill and we ask for your prayers for her and the family. Also prayers for HAR HeartOfSweet/Tim Thank you
You may notice our newsletter is a bit different from prior issues. Our fearless and wonderful leader, Linda has recently changed jobs. She has been working many more hours than in her previous job and her schedule calls for her to get up at three am. Needless to say this has left her lacking in the sleep department. Her, 'Notes from Linda', feature will be back as soon as she gets adjusted to her new scheduled and caught up on some much needed sleep. She wanted me to convey her apologies and hopes you will all understand.
Look for even more changes coming soon to HAR. We are going to be adding some new and very talented Readers to the HAR family soon. Plans are also in the works for the best anniversary month HAR has ever had coming in October. Will are working on some great events, fun activities and contests, plus some very special Radio guests for our show. Stay tuned for more details about the events.
We have a great Radio show line up for August and September. Reiki 101, Facing Your Fears, Healing with Herbs and Healing with Candles. Our Spiritual Round tables have meet with great success and we have scheduled two of these also. We looking foward to hearing from you on our Radio shows. Remember if you miss a show you can download the show at any time.
You may also have noticed that HAR has cut back the hours we are operating. Our new hours are from 7pm -11pm PST M-Fri, Sat 6- midnight PST. Our radio show is still Sunday's from 9am- 11am PST.
We are still looking for Readers and people who would like to become chat Hosts to join the group. I'm sure most of you know that after a reading we urge you to sign out guest book and mention your Readers name. I think there may be some confusion about it being a guest book which one would normally only sign once. We' use our guest book to collect your comments about your readings. What It Is Used For
Kalahari Bushmen have traditionally eaten hoodia stems to reduce their hunger and thirst during long hunts. Today, hoodia is marketed as an appetite suppressant for weight loss.
How It Is Used
Dried extracts of hoodia stems and roots are used to make capsules, powders, and chewable tablets. Hoodia can also be used in liquid extracts and teas.
Hoodia products often contain other herbs or minerals, such as green tea or chromium picolinate.
What the Science Says
There is no reliable scientific evidence to support hoodia's use. No studies of the herb in people have been published.
Side Effects and Cautions
Hoodia's safety is unknown. Its potential risks, side effects, and interactions with medicines and other supplements have not been studied.
The quality of hoodia products varies widely. News reports suggest that some products sold as hoodia do not contain any hoodia.
Tell your health care providers about any complementary and alternative practices you use. Give them a full picture of what you do to manage your health. This will help ensure coordinated and safe care.

Gemstone of the Month Peridot
Cleopatra's Favorite Green "Sun Stone"
Peridot is gemstone-quality olivine, a mineral that is very abundant but not usually found in high enough quality to be used as gemstones. The name peridot was derived from either the Greek "peridona," (richness) or the Arabic "faridat" (gem). Peridot is also known as chrysolite, Greek for "gold stone."
The most valuable peridots are those with the richest green color, lending to gold – coloring that is caused by the traces amounts of iron that color the gemstone. Peridot is not very hard, ranking 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale, but it is easy to care for when properly cut and is very durable.
Peridot in Myth and History
When Hawaiian natives first discovered peridot in the black sands of volcanoes, they believed the clear, green gemstones were the tears of the volcano goddess, Pele. Egyptian jewelry featured peridot, "the gem of the sun," as early as two centuries B.C., believing it connected them to their goddess, Isis. Peridots are said to have been a favorite gemstone of Egypt's most famous queen, Cleopatra.
The Romans admired the stone for its constant color which does not change in artificial light, calling it "emerald of the evening." Peridot is found in Medieval Christian churches and shrines and was also popular during Europe's baroque period of the 17th Century.

Full Sturgeon Moon - August The fishing tribes are given credit for the naming of this Moon, since sturgeon, a large fish of the Great Lakes and other major bodies of water, were most readily caught during this month. A few tribes knew it as the Full Red Moon because, as the Moon rises, it appears reddish through any sultry haze. It was also called the Green Corn Moon or Grain Moon.
