Hello All!! I hope your summer has started off nicely and gets better and better as we go.

We have a couple of new additions to our family this month. Please join me in welcoming HAR Sarah (aka GrnEyedAngel), who started with us about a week and a half ago. Also coming on board are HAR Shelley and HAH Jeannie (aka Happiness). We look forward to having them in our family.

Still on Leave Of Absence are HAR Debbie Dee (aka FlaminGrnEyz), HAH Janine (aka DragonSong), and HAH Brandy (DivineSpirit). We wish them well and hope they'll be back with us soon. We love and miss you all.

As mentioned in last month's Newsletter, we are looking for yet another onsite Chat Room. I recently found one that I'm interested in, so we will be testing it over the next few weeks to see if it'll fit our needs. Will keep you posted on that.

We hit an all time high with our radio show segment, "Angels and How They Affect Our Everyday Lives" on June 22nd. We had 215 live listeners, 76 downloads to date, and 22 callers. I want to thank everyone for being so loyal and wonderful.

I would like to congratulate HAH Dani (Bastet) for her promotion to Administrator of HAR this past month. She will continue to host our chat rooms and remain editor of our newsletter, The Oracle Messenger, but has also taken on the responsibility of Administrator. She is doing an awesome job and will be a great asset to HAR. Also promoted last month was HAH Claudette to Reader & Host Manager. She too will be a wonderful asset. Congratulations ladies!!!

Forthcoming to HAR is our very own e-Card program. We're hoping to get this up and running within the next few weeks, and we invite you all to enjoy them.

With changes within HAR ... adding new Readers and Hosts, look for our updated schedule to be posted on our site very soon.

Herb - St. John's Wort

Common Names
St. John's Wort, hypericum, Klamath weed, goat weed Latin Name-Hypericum perforatum

What It Is Used For
St. John's Wort has been used for centuries to treat mental disorders and nerve pain. St. John's Wort has also been used as a sedative and a treatment for malaria, as well as a balm for wounds, burns, and insect bites. Today, St. John's Wort is used by some for depression, anxiety, and/or sleep disorders.

How It Is Used
The flowering tops of St. John's Wort are used to prepare teas and tablets containing concentrated extracts.

What the Science Says
There is some scientific evidence that St. John's Wort is useful for treating mild to moderate depression. However, two large studies, one sponsored by NCCAM, showed that the herb was no more effective than placebo in treating major depression of moderate severity.

NCCAM is studying the use of St. John's Wort in a wider spectrum of mood disorders, including minor depression.

Side Effects and Cautions
St. John's Wort may cause increased sensitivity to sunlight. Other side effects can include anxiety, dry mouth, dizziness, gastrointestinal symptoms, fatigue, headache, or sexual dysfunction. Research shows that St. John's Wort interacts with some drugs. The herb affects the way the body processes or breaks down many drugs; in some cases, it may speed or slow a drug's breakdown. Drugs that can be affected include: Antidepressants, Birth control pills, Cyclosporine, which prevents the body from rejecting transplanted organs. Digoxin, which strengthens heart muscle contractions. Indinavir and possibly other drugs used to control HIV infection Irinotecan and possibly other drugs used to treat cancer Warfarin and related anticoagulants.

When combined with certain antidepressants, St. John's Wort may increase side effects such as nausea, anxiety, headache, and confusion.

St. John's Wort is not a proven therapy for depression. If depression is not adequately treated, it can become severe. Anyone who may have depression should see a health care provider. There are effective proven therapies available.

Tell your health care providers about any complementary and alternative practices you use. Give them a full picture of what you do to manage your health. This will help ensure coordinated and safe care.

Faeries, Elves, and Nature Spirits

In Western societies nature spirits are known as fairies or elves. In Greek mythology they were the dryads, nerieds, and nymphs that inhabited nature. In many Pre-Christian, civilization fairies and elves may have been worshipped as gods and goddesses. These entities were well respected by the humans and were associated with the aspects of nature. Some thought that the spirits of these inhabited forest realms and were synonymous with the tree's, rivers, mountains and the elements of earth, water fire and wind. This showed an awareness of the life force that pervaded living things upon the earth.

Nature spirits have appeared in legend and myth throughout the world. Folk lore tales from around the world all have similar major themes. The common factor is that these themes tell about nature spirits having power over the elements. Other themes which abound are that there are nature spirits specific to earth to air, to fire, and to water. Still more commonalities are that these spirits can be dangerousness and mischievousness, and that time passes differently in their realms.

The central idea of fairies, elves and nature spirits having power over the elements is seen throughout the world in many folklore tales and pre-Christian deities.

Power over the Elements

There are four Kinds of Elemental Beings: Air (Sylphs), Earth (Gnome), Fire, (Salamanders), and Water (Undines). The Nature Spirits of Air are called Sylphs. Since they vibrate at a slightly higher frequency rate than the other elementals, they often prefer to live around heightened and more rarified places on the planet like mountains and sea cliffs.

Often volatile and changeable, the Sylphs are usually sympathetic of human endeavors and for the most part their actions towards them are kindly and thoughtful.

The Sylphs can have a profound and powerful influence on the human mental body and thought, and, they are responsible for being the primary impetus behind both inspirational art and inventions, as well as, unraveling the more arcane and convoluted mysteries of the universe.

The Nature Spirits of Earths are called Gnomes. Since they usually live in the soil, in rocks, beneath the ground, and under the tree roots, they are the elementals who are most likely to imitate the customs and behaviors of the people of prior civilizations, concentrating on aspects of daily life that intrigued them and that they thought were worth emulating.

Gnomes constantly journey back and forth maintaining the textures and hues of the destiny tapestries that anchor the patterns of human traditions in the material plane.

Gnomes are very discriminating and will only assist humans who have been thoughtfully considerate of the ways of the Natural World, who have also established a connection with them through acts of kindness.

The Nature Spirits of Fire are called Salamanders. They are often regarded as the most powerful of the elementals because fires would not exist without them. Fire Spirits ignite the flame, giving matches and sparks the impetus they need to burst forth in fiery light. They can be courageous in helping humans if they care deeply about their welfare.

The Nature Spirits of Water are called Undines. Since their purpose is to direct the flow and course of the waters of the planet, they live in coral caves, fountains, lakes, marshlands, rivers, seas, waterfalls, and underneath lily pads. They are often kind towards humans they within their realm.

Danger and Mischievousness

There are also themes of mischievous to dangerous faerie beings that people need to be aware of. This may be explained by the faeries' close association with nature and the elements. Nature nurtures humankind and yet can be vicious, as is seen in storms, earthquakes, draughts, and other natural disasters. So stories of faeries like nature, vary between the extremes of being both helpful and dangerous to human beings.

In this second installment of the Laws Of The Universe, we're happy to give you laws 4 through 6.

4. The Law of Analogy Although this is a definite condition of third dimension existence, no analogy is ever exact in detail but only in certain broad basic correspondences. There will be found unchangeable points of resemblance, but in using analogy viewing creation, no two details are exact. Using analogy in trying to mentally explain the unexplainable, one attempts to convey understanding, in a broad sense.

5. The Law of Ascension This law defines the high vibrational frequency which the soul of an incarnational being is resonating. When a personality looses the illusion of separation from it's god self, the vibration of that person raises to the point of ascension. No longer does this mean that the incarnational personality leaves the earth plane to live a finer existence. We are meant to bring our loving energies to our every day existence, becoming an example or role model for others to emulate. We can recognize this vibrational frequency in others by the degree to which they are a magnet to others.

6. The Law of Attraction This is the basic law of all manifestation, the Love Aspect, and it governs the Soul aspect. One of the Three Major Laws, and it has 11 subsidiary laws. Fundamentally, this law describes the compelling force of attraction that holds our solar system to the Sirian. It holds our planets revolving around our central unit, the sun. It holds the lesser systems of atomic and molecular matter circulating around a center in the planet, and that of the subtle bodies coordinated around their microcosmic center. It is the primary law of man. The law of synthesis is beginning to be felt.

Greetings to all. Summer is here with a vengeance this year. Major flooding in the Midwest, fires in California and record high's throughout the Nation. Makes one stop and wonder why Mother Earth or the nature spirits are angry with us. You could blame them ... we haven't been for good care takers of the Earth. Hopefully with people being made more aware every day of the ecological problems we have created, we will start finding better solutions. The Care2 network of which HAR is a part of is a great place to go to find ways you can help save out planet.

Happy Fourth of July

I have always loved the 4th of July holiday. It should mean more however than barbeques, parties, an extra day off from work and fireworks to you. It symbolizes what the US was founded on FREEDOM. A word that, should never be taken lightly. When it is forgotten about and taken too lightly it can be taken away from you. I think John Cougar said it best, "You have to stand for something or you'll fall for anything"
