Notes from Linda
Hello to All, I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. It was a beautiful weekend here in California and our family gathered together to enjoy one another's company, and also to remember those that gave their lives for our freedom. I hope that everyone had a chance to listen to our Blog Talk Radio show on May 30th. HAR Peter was featured in this segment. We had so many listeners that many could not get through on the phones from what the BTR station said. Also, Rae wrote a beautiful Memorial Prayer which she read on air.
I would like to welcome to our family, HAH Wanda May. Wanda joins us as Host for our chat rooms, so please join me in welcome her and making her feel comfortable.
Returning this summer to HAR is HAR Cookie. Many of you know that Cookie took a Leave of Absence to do some continued education. She will be finishing up at the beginning of August and returning to us very soon. As of Monday, May 31st, we at HAR opened our Healing Room. Since our Monday night Reader is currently on Leave of Absence, we will be holding healing sessions on Monday evenings. Once our Monday Reader returns, we will move the healing sessions to Sunday evenings. So, for now, please join us every Monday evening for prayer and healing sessions.

Hard to believe summer is already here. How time does fly. It seems to pass quicker with each year.
We have a truly awesome Blog Talk HAR Radio Show line up for this month. Including two special guests.On Sunday June 6th our show will be on Bach Flower Essences. Our guest will be Julie Haskins On Sunday June 20th, Father's Day, join us as we talk to psychic and author Conny Conway. Conny, the author of the top selling book, “Never Ending Dream,” You won't want to any of June's shows.
The Gulf oil spill is fast becoming the worst environmentaldisaster in US history. It is a situation which has the potentialto not only effect those who live in the region but the rest of the world as well. The
long-term damage to the Gulf ecosystem is unavoidable and will takedecades to repair, if it can. If not is will create a dead spot., a place barren of all life. Thousand of birds and sea creatures have already died as a result.
I think there are many people wishing to help with this disaster in one way or another. If you'd like to do something to help but are unsure of what you can do I have compiled a short list of web sites and info below for you.

Remedies For: Appetizer, cholagogue, digestive, diuretic, tonic
Chicory is often recommended for jaundice and or spleen problems. The juice of the leaves and a tea made from the flowering plant promote the production of bile, the release of gallstones, and the elimination of excessive internal mucus. They are also useful for gastritis, lack of appetite, and digestive difficulties. A decoction of the rootstock is said to be beneficial to the glandular organs of the digestive system. For painful inflammations, try applying the boiled leaves and flowers wrapped in a cloth.
Description:
Chicory is a perennial plant that is commonly cultivated and also found wild in the U.S. and Europe. The rootstock is light yellow outside, white inside, and, like the rest of the plant, contains a bitter, milky juice. The stiff, angular, branching stem bears lanceolate leaves that are coarsely toothed near the bottom of the plant. The light-blue to violet-blue, flower heads feature rays that are toothed at the ends. Flowering time is from July to September or October.
Dosage:
Gather the rootstock from March to May.
Decoction: Use 1 tsp. rootstock or herb per 1/2 cup of cold water; bring to a boil and strain. Take 1 to 1 1/2 cups a day, a mouthful at a time.
Juice: Take 1 tbsp. in milk or water, three times a day.
Safety:
No information available. Some herbs are known to react with your medication. Please consult your physician before starting on any herb.

The Summer Solstice
June is already upon us. It seems to me that the older one becomes the more one realizes how quickly time does pass. June 21 is the Summer Solstice . It's often referred to as "Midsummer". It gives people in the northern hemisphere maximum daylight light hours and shortest moonlight hour s..It marks the first day of summer
The Celts & Slavs celebrated the first day of summer with dancing & bonfires to help increase the sun's energy. The Chinese marked the day by honoring Li, the Chinese Goddess of Light. .
The Druids' celebration of the day as the "wedding of Heaven and Earth", resulting in the present day belief of a "lucky" wedding in June.
Midsummer was thought to be a time of magic, when evil spirits were said to appear. To thwart them, Pagans often wore protective garlands of herbs and flowers. One of the most powerful of them was a plant called 'chase-devil', which is known today as St. John's Wort and still used by modern herbalists as a mood stabilizer.
Today, the day is still celebrated around the world - most notably in England a Stonehenge and Avebury where thousands gather to welcome the sunrise on the Summer Solstice. |
Laws of the Universe
63. The Law of One. The Lord is ONE. All that is, is His - of self, of the universe, of the activities in the earth. All moves and has its being in Him. So it is in self. Life itself is the consciousness, the awareness of that Oneness of that Universal Consciousness in the earth.
64. The Law of Order of Creation. The beginning of law carries all the way through. And that which comes or begins first is conceived in spirit, grows in the mental and manifests in the material. First it was the means and source or manner by which the powers that be made the centralization for making known to the children of men, and children of God, the directing forces or powers. Man eventually turned this into that channel for destructive forces. While man developed in this direction for many centuries, humans are leaning toward light. We are reaching toward the critical point of more in the light than in darkness.
65. The Law of Patience. Luke said- "In your patience possess ye your souls." Patience involves spiritual, mental and physical thought and action. Through it, we learn to know our self, to measure and test our ideals, to use faith and to seek understanding through all the other virtues. Patience allows all other virtues to manifest more profoundly. Patiently we realize that any fault we see in another is one we have personal knowledge of from prior experience. Patiently we seek true understanding, not just knowledge, as we realize that every soul is totally unique and will come to its enlightenment in its own time.
66. The Law of Patterns. Any habit or pattern, whether we call it good or bad, tends to reassert itself over time unless we break that pattern by doing something different. If it is good, we can reinforce the pattern with small self rewards. We have the power of spontaneous action, doing old things in new ways, changing and restructuring our lives and our behavior. Some of our change ability is dictated by the ways we learned when we were young. We learned to make sense of the world by observing patterns, and this has survival value. We can correct the patterns we see as dysfunctional, negative or destructive by doing something different that will have sufficient impact to interrupt the old pattern.
67. The Law of Perfection. This law concerns the absolute perfection of the process of our unfolding. From a transcendental perspective, everyone and everything is unconditionally perfect. From a conventional viewpoint, perfection doesn't exist. Excellence is the best we can achieve, and achieving it takes time and practice. When we understand the larger picture, we understand our role and responsibility in helping the world we live in to become more loving, giving, kinder and gentler. When we live up to this responsibility, we expand into the perfection of our higher selves.

Summer Tips for Pets
Keep your pets safe from summers heat. Pets feel the effects of the heat just as humans do. Pets left in locked vehicles can die in a short period of time. Temperatures in locked vehicles can quickly reach 140 or greater. If your pets love to go for rides don't take them if they can not accompany you at your destination.
If you are traveling by car on vacation and wnat to take your pets with you. Make sure to keep them confined in your vehicle with you while you are driving. It is safer for them, especially should you be involved in an accident. Make sure they have collars or harness with ID tags on. This is very important as many animals get lost wile traveling.
Do not let your animal out to run free at rest stops always have them on a leash. Check hotels before you start out on your trip to make sure they allow pets. Carry water, food and cleaning pets supplies. Make freguent stops to allow pets to go potty and offer water. You may want to without food 2-4 hours before starting your trip and until you stop driving for the day. This may prevent pets from getting car sick.
If you don't have AC and are drying through very hot areas you can wet down a bath towel and place it over your pets carrier, then just make sure the carrier is next to an open window. This can cool the carrier down by as much as 10 degrees.
If you are planning on flying and taking your pet with you, I strongly suggest that the only way you do this is if your pet is small enough to ride under your seat in the passenger cabin of the plane.
Never leave a pet alone at home during a vacation always make sure someone checks on the pet at least once a day.
