I hope everyone's year is on track and running smoothly as we head into the month of March. There are a lot of energy shifts and changes happening this year, and if we are prepared for them, it's going to be a great year.

I'd like to welcome back HAH Justin who was on a three week sabbatical. This is his first week back and we at HAR would like to say that we missed you and we're glad you're back. I'd like to also welcome to our family HAH Laura and HAH Angel, two new Hosts with HAR. And, last but not least, I would like to welcome HAH Angelica, who will do fill in and substitute hosting, as needed. Welcome everyone. We're also looking to grow our The Lighted Path Investigations family. TLP is part of the HAR organization and specializes on working with individuals, families and authorities with a variety of case work, such as but not limited to, missing or kidnapped children and adults, homicides, cold or unsolved cases. TLP also takes on special cases concerning paranormal investigations. Two of our new online classes just concluded this past month, Connecting with Your Angels and Opening Your Psychic Awareness . These two classes were met with great success and, by popular demand we will be offering these two classes again very soon, so please check often on the Class Schedule page of our site. The Working & Healing with Crystals and Oils, Incense & Brews: Beginners classes have begun and look to be very informative and fun as well. I'm sure that these classes too will be asked for again. Look for these and other new offerings coming soon to our School of Metaphysics.

Still under construction is the Our Charities page, in which we're creating “badges” for the various charities that we at HAR support, and our new venture the Angels Among Us portion of our site. The AAU section of our site will have pictures and videos of angels, angel affirmations, testimonials, etc … everything angels will be in this section of our site when it's up.

February's Blog Talk Radio shows were a huge success. I want to thank everyone involved in those shows, as well as our listening audience who support us each Sunday morning.

Some of the tentative shows lined up on our blog talk radio show in the months of April and May are an interview with psychic, author and life coach, Laura Kaiser, a round table discussion on Spirituality, another in the empowerment series dealing with trust, another show concerning The Lighted Path Investigations, more on the Healing with Colors and the Gemstones series, among other things. We have a lot of great shows coming up, so we hope you can join us for them all.

Just a little reminder that our HAR Readers read onsite and in AOL chat rooms six nights a week. You can find us reading onsite on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. We read on AOL, in the Life section, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We also do mini-readings on the air on Sunday mornings on our Blog Talk Radio show. And, last but not least, you can possibly get a free reading published in our newsletter, The Oracle Messenger . The details are still in the works, but we'll be holding healing sessions and prayer in our Healing Chambers (Healing Chat Rooms) onsite at Heaven's Angels Spiritual Readings. We'll probably have them either monthly or bi-monthly. All are invited to join us during the open sessions.

Herb Bitter Orange

Latin Names—Citrus aurantium

What It Is Used For
Bitter orange has been used in traditional Chinese medicineA whole medical system that originated in China. It is based on the concept that disease results from disruption in the flow of qi and imbalance in the forces of yin and yang. Practices such as herbs, meditation, massage, and acupuncture seek to aid healing by restoring the yin-yang balance and the flow of qi. and by indigenous people of the Amazon rainforest for nausea, indigestion, and constipation.
Current uses of bitter orange are for heartburn, loss of appetite, nasal congestion, and weight loss. It is also applied to the skin for fungal infections such as ringworm and athlete's foot.

How It Is Used
The dried fruit and peel (and sometimes flowers and leaves) are taken by mouth in extracts, tablets, and capsules. Bitter orange oil can be applied to the skin.

What the Science Says
There is not enough scientific evidence to support the use of bitter orange for health purposes. Many herbal weight-loss products now use concentrated extracts of bitter orange peel in place of ephedra. However, bitter orange contains the chemical synephrine, which is similar to the main chemical in ephedra. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration banned ephedra because it raises blood pressure and is linked to heart attacks and strokes; it is unclear whether bitter orange has similar effects. There is currently little evidence that bitter orange is safer to use than ephedra.

Side Effects and Cautions
Because bitter orange contains chemicals that may speed up the heart rate and raise blood pressure, it may not be safe to use as a dietary supplementA product that contains vitamins, minerals, herbs or other botanicals, amino acids, enzymes, and/or other ingredients intended to supplement the diet. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has special labeling requirements for dietary supplements.. There have been reports of fainting, heart attack, and stroke in healthy people after taking bitter orange supplements alone or combined with caffeine. People should avoid taking bitter orange supplements if they have a heart condition or high blood pressure, or if they are taking medications (such as MAO inhibitors), caffeine, or other herbs/supplements that speed up the heart rate.
Due to lack of safety evidence, pregnant women should avoid products that contain bitter orange.

Bitter orange oil used on the skin may increase the risk of sunburn, particularly in light-skinned people.
Tell your health care providers about any complementary and alternative practices you use. Give them a full picture of what you do to manage your health. This will help ensure coordinated and safe care.

Cooking with HAR Amethyst

These a re a favorite at potlucks! Once, I substituted pancake mix (the kind you just add water) and they rec'd awesome praise. It is my family's favorite non sweet holiday treat

Sausage Balls
1 twelve oz package extra sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1 lb mild pork sausage or spicy (whichever you prefer)
2 cups Bisquick baking mix
1 --3 dash hot sauce

Let sausage come to room temperature (this is very important or mixture will be dry)Mix all ingredients together well using your hands (make sure it is mixed well, be patient) Shape into small balls
Bake 25 to 30 mins at 375 ( I go by aroma and looks when I cook so I think the time is right)
Yield 30 small balls

St. Patrick's Day - The wearing of the Green

On St. Patrick's Day, everyone becomes Irish or at least it sure seems like it. You wear Green not to get pinched and to blend in. It's the greenest day of the year and a great day to party.

As to the who, what, when and when............You may not have known the person who was to become St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, was born in Wales about AD 385. His given name was Maewyn, and he almost didn't get the job of bishop of Ireland because he lacked the required scholarship.

As for the saint part, he considered his self to be a pagan until he was 16. He was sold into slavery by a group of Irish marauders that raided his village. During his captivity, he came r to know God.

He escaped from slavery after six years and went to Gaul where he studied in the monastery under St. Germain, bishop of Auxerre for a period of twelve years. During his training he became aware that his calling was to convert the pagans to Christianity.

His wishes were to return to Ireland, to convert the native pagans to Christianity. But his superiors instead appointed St. Palladius. But two years later, Palladius transferred to Scotland. Patrick, having adopted that Christian name earlier, was then appointed as second bishop to Ireland.

Patrick was quite successful at winning converts. And this fact upset the Celtic Druids. Patrick was arrested several times, but escaped each time. He traveled throughout Ireland, establishing monasteries across the country. He also set up schools and churches which would aid him in his conversion of the Irish country to Christianity.

His mission in Ireland lasted for thirty years. After that time, Patrick retired to County Down. He died on March 17 in AD 461. That day has been commemorated as St. Patrick's Day ever since.

Much Irish folklore surrounds St. Patrick's Day.

Some of this lore includes the belief that Patrick raised people from the dead. He also is said to have given a sermon from a hilltop that drove all the snakes from Ireland. Of course, no snakes were ever native to Ireland, and some people think this is a metaphor for the conversion of the pagans. Though originally a Catholic holy day, St. Patrick's Day has evolved into more of a secular holiday.

One traditional icon of the day is the shamrock. And this stems from a more bona fide Irish tale that tells how Patrick used the three-leafed shamrock to explain the Trinity. He used it in his sermons to represent how the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit could all exist as separate elements of the same entity. His followers adopted the custom of wearing a shamrock on his feast day.

The St. Patrick's Day custom came to America in 1737.

Aquamarine

The best aquamarine stones are those of blue sea color without any trace of other colors. The aquamarine is supposed to protect sailors when they travel on the sea and bring luck and fortune to its wearer. The name of this stone has been derived from the Latin word 'Aqua' meaning water and 'Mare' or sea.

Since early times, aquamarine has been believed to endow the wearer with foresight, courage, and happiness. It is said to increase intelligence and make one youthful. As a healing stone, it is said to be effective as a treatment for anxiety and in the Middle Ages it was thought that aquamarine would reduce the effect of poisons.

March's full moon is the Worm Moon As the temperature begins to warm and the ground begins to thaw, earthworm casts appear, heralding the return of the robins. The more northern tribes knew this Moon as the Full Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signaled the end of winter; or the Full Crust Moon, because the snow cover becomes crusted from thawing by day and freezing at night. The Full Sap Moon, marking the time of tapping maple trees, is another variation. To the settlers, it was also known as the Lenten Moon, and was considered to be the last full Moon of winter.
