Notes from Linda
Blessings Everyone,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. I know I did. I was able to see family, and that's always nice.
This month is Mother's Day (May 10th) and Veteran's Day (May 25th). There will be no radio show these weekends, as we'll be sending time with family and friends. We'd also like to mention that Cinco de Mayo is on May 5th.
We'll be updating our reading schedule very soon due to some changes, so look regularly on our site to get the most updated information.
Speaking of changes, I would like to bid a fond farewell to our wonderful sister, HAR Cookie. Cookie recently became a Reiki Master, and she has decided to go back to school to take massage and then open a Reiki location in her hometown. We'll
miss you Cookie, but wish you all the best in your new adventure. And remember Sis, the door is always open to you when you want to come back.
HAR Tim is on a medical leave of absence for awhile, so please join with me in wishing Tim well and a speedy recovery. We miss you Tim and hope that you'll be back with us again real soon.
Also on leave of absence is HAR Joni. Joni is in her final year of school and anticipating on her graduation this August. Joni, we all know that you'll do great and be able to follow your dream after graduation.Hurry back to us, Sis, as you're missed.
On Sunday, May 3rd, we had a special guest with us on our Blog Talk Radio show, Poet and Author Goldie Lopez. Goldie shared her wonderful story of empowerment, as well as her self and spiritual awakening. Goldie talks about her childhood, her

What It Is Used For
Licorice root has been used as a dietary supplementA product that contains vitamins, minerals, herbs or other botanicals, amino acids, enzymes, and/or other ingredients intended to supplement the diet. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has special labeling requirements for dietary supplements. for stomach ulcers, bronchitis, and sore throat, as well as infections caused by viruses, such as hepatitis.
How It Is Used
Peeled licorice root is available in dried and powdered forms.
Licorice root is available as capsules, tablets, and liquid extracts.
Licorice can be found with glycyrrhizin removed; the product is called DGL (for "deglycyrrhizinated licorice").
What the Science Says
A review of several clinical trials found that glycyrrhizin might reduce complications from hepatitis C in some patients. However, there is not enough evidence to confirm that glycyrrhizin has this effect.
There are not enough reliable data to determine whether licorice is effective for stomach ulcers.
Side Effects and Cautions
In large amounts, licorice containing glycyrrhizin can cause high blood pressure, salt and water retention, and low potassium levels, which could lead to heart problems. DGL products are thought to cause fewer side effects.
The safety of using licorice as a supplement for more than 4 to 6 weeks has not been thoroughly studied. Taking licorice together with diuretics (water pills) or other medicines that reduce the body's potassium levels could cause dangerously low potassium levels. People with heart disease or high blood pressure should be cautious about using licorice. When taken in large amounts, licorice can affect the body's levels of a hormone called cortisol and related steroid drugs, such as prednisone.
Pregnant women should avoid using licorice as a supplement or consuming large amounts of licorice as food, as some research suggests it could increase the risk of preterm labor.
Tell your health care providers about any complementary and alternative practices you use. Give them a full picture of what you do to manage your health. This will help ensure coordinated and safe care.

Basics of Meditation
To be able to meditate is the first step in getting in
touch with your inner self. It is also a method of
control. Control of your mind and body. It is the
bases from which most metaphysical pursuits are
founded upon.There are hundreds different ways to get into a
meditative state of being.This is a very basic one for beginners to try out Find a quiet place . . . free of distractions. . .
No music, TV telephones or kids in the background Adjust the lighting and room temperature. . .
Lower lighting or turn it out completely.

Adjust clothing . . . footwear . . . eyeglasses.
Sit down or lie down . . .
Find a position that is comfortable for you . . .Quiet your mind . . . Still your thoughts . . .
You must leave all the day to day thoughts like

you have to get done for work or school and all this behind you
.Relax your body. . .Your face . . . your jaw . . . relaxing . . . Your shoulders . . . your neck . . . relaxedYour arms . . . your hands . . . feel at peace . . .Your torso . . . your hips . . . letting go . . .Your legs . . . your feet . . . totally relaxed . . .Focus on your breathing . . .Inhale slowly and deeply through your nose . . .
Retain the breath as long as is comfortable . . .
Exhale through your mouth slowly and completely. .
Repeat until you feel totally relaxed and at peace
By now you should be in a meditative state. The
trick now is to stay this way. Keep your mind at
peace don't let thoughts in. Keep your body relaxed
Try to stay in this state for 20 - 30 minutes daily.

Laws of the Universe 31. The Law of Free Will, or the Law of Choice. We
in third dimension have the right to expand or contract, to bring our creative and expressive energies out into the world in positive or negative ways. This is our ultimate decision. Not all of existence lives with this law as it carries with it both
the possibility of great soul growth and the ability to loose soul growth and create evil or negativity. No matter what our circumstances, we have the power to choose our direction. We also choose to be under the influence of others or choose to be an example for others. We do it with a hundred actions which lead to the circumstances we find ourselves in today. Thoughts are things and the mind is the builder. The free will we use to create mixes with our ability to love profoundly, and therefore this path reflects the duration of the time spent in
attempt to merge with the Great Soul of all Creation. The Christ warned of that which could destroy the soul (not Spirit) so there is always a possibility that a soul entity on its journey could become a God-hater with diminished light and be
absorbed back into the Spirit of God to become just spirit and no longer a soul with separate awareness. A goal of our higher selves is to voluntarily and willingly surrender our egos to be a perfected spirit, hanging up the Soul-Overcoat of manifestation regardless of how many lifetimes it takes.

What draws you to psychically gifted individuals? I would say how they can help some people receive messages from their love ones after their passing's.
What is your favorite color? Different shades of pink
Do you have any psychic gifts yourself? Honesty yes I think I do but they're still growing as it was put to me. Empath I can feel as what other are feeling and I have had dreams in the past that later came true. There's other things date back from my childhood which isn't truly clear to me yet how to put them into words because I don't understand them. As I said I'm still growing as Linda mentioned it to me.
What type of music do you like ? I like pretty much everything from country to heavy metal except opera
Why did you become an HAR Host? Something different and I like to meet new people, I enjoy heavens Angels Reading rooms very friendly and happy faces or shall I say fronts.

Gemstone of the Month

I am impressed with how interesting and informative this new's letter is. I truly enjoy reading it ever month." I am so thrilled, that is the first comment we have ever gotten about the newsletter. :)
It is with a sad heart that we are bidding HAR Cookie good bye this month. She is returning to her studies and we wish her well. She will be greatly missed by all of us.

The news is hard to figure out at times. Today I was watching CNN as I writing this. One reporter said that, it seems that those in charge think our ecomony is starting to look better. Twenty minutes later another said there are over one hundred cities with an unemployment at ten percent or higher and to expect more job lay offs throughout the rest of 2009.. Hmmmm with my meager knowledge of economics, I'd say that ten percent unemployment with number expected to raise, this can't possibly mean things for John or Jane Q Public is getting better can it? I think not!
For myself, I can tell you without a doubt every time I got to the store to buy food my bill is higher than the last time. Also that finding a job in the Los Angeles area is just this side of almost impossible. I'd be interested in hearing form our readers on thier take of ecomony in their areas.
